Hiking: Wohldorfer Forest
This hike takes you through the ancient city forest of the free city of Hamburg. Annexed to the city in the 15th century, it has been open to the public since the 18th. It's a small forest of meandering paths and forest idyll.
Hiking: Fischbecker Meadows
This hike takes you on a tour of the Fischbecker Meadows for some natural beauty closer to Hamburg. Like the heath moor of the Lüneburg Meadows, this park also blooms in the autumn months, which makes a hike here in the fading days of summer ideal.
Hiking: The Forests of Holstein
The Hanheide National Park is comprised of a now detached and preserved portion of the Saxonwald or Saxon Forest, which once stretched across most of Holstein. This hike just takes you through the charming and, at times, mystical forests of the ancient Saxons.
Hiking: The Mölln Meadows
Mölln sits on the old Salt Road between Lüneburg and Lübeck and was the location of a Slavic settlement before it was conquered in the 12th century by German settlers. Despite that, it spent most of its history under Danish and Lübeckian rule. This hike takes you around the marshes and meadows around the charming old town of Mölln.
