The Fulda valley between Kassel and Fulda City is a remarkably beautiful landscape. However, much of it has been set aside for industrial or residential development. Between Bad Hersfeld and Fulda, though, the river valley is largely rural and forested in character with only small villages in between. This hike takes you through some of the timeless towns that once separated the Prince-Abbots of Fulda and the Prince-Abbots of Hersfeld.
