Mills were a common sight in the pre-modern landscape of Europe. During the late 19th century, many were industrialized. By the end of the 20th century, most had disappeared entirely. The Seven-Mill Valley near Stuttgart has a remarkable collection of 18th and 19th-century mills set in the picturesque pastoral landscape of Württemberg. This hike also includes an eclectic collection of other sights from the same time period.
