This is a simple walk around the ancient territory of the Bebenhausen Monastery. In the Middle Ages, the monasteries held great territories which supported the Monks and their activities. Some Monasteries, such as Fulda, were powerful enough to act as regional powers, whereas others like Bebenhausen were more local. The forests around Bebenhausen were maintained as a source of firewood and timber for the monks and retained their ancient atmosphere.
