Hiking: Istein Cliffs

At the upper-most part of the Rhine, as it snakes its way towards the Swiss Border, the Rhine begins to cut through some low Apline foothills. The cliffs near the town of Istein offer sweeping views of the Rhineland, and themselves have been used as a source of buiding materials for centuries.

How to Get Here:

  • The hike starts at the Efringen-Kirchen station, which is close to Basel.
