Hike: Palatine Meadows

Highland meadow landscapes are confined to the well-known areas in the Alps. The Palatinate has a small meadow-landscape thanks to centuries of pasture animals grazing on the land. Though the animals have been gone for a century, the flowers remain. Best visited in Spring or Autumn, the meadows near Neu-Bamberg are very pretty. This hike offers a route for those without a car, which is quite difficult in this region. As a result, there is also a castle and a long walk through a forest on the route.

How to Get Here:

  • The hike starts in Neu-Bamberg, reachable by Bus, but ends in Altenbamberg, which has a train station.
