Hike: Drachenfels and the Siebenbergen

The Drachenfels is the northern gate to the Middle Rhine Valley. Sitting high above the Rhine are two dramatic castles. The 19th-century Drachenfels palace and the ruins of the once mighty Drachenfels castle. Both are open to the public, and this hike is all about hiking to and around them while getting the best views of the Rhine Valley.

  • The hike starts in Munzingen, a small village reachable by bus from Freiburg.
