This is a simple walk around the ancient territory of the Bebenhausen Monastery. In the Middle Ages, the monasteries held great territories which supported the Monks and their activities. Some Monasteries, such as Fulda, were powerful enough to act as regional powers, whereas others like Bebenhausen were more local.

Hiking: Castle Liebenzell and the Monbachtal
On the edge of the Black Forest, as it slowly turns into the cultivated highlands of Württemberg, is a small stream, the Monbach. The stream cuts a beautiful gorge through dark sandstone, surrounded by forest and a nearby castle.
Hiking: Castle and Waterfalls of Hohenurach
Germany is not a country known for its waterfalls. However, the town of Bad Urach in the Swabian alps has several. This hike takes you up the Castle of Hohenurach and then, on the descent, tours the small cascade that forms the core of Urach's famous waterfalls.
Hiking: Hohenwittlingen Valley
This hike goes up and around the Hohenwittlingen valley, which is full of cliffs and viewpoints. It's a hike with a good mix of things to do and things to see, with several caves, cliffs, and gorges to navigate.
